Candidate criteria
Shortlisting Criteria
Essential:
•Minimum of 3 years' experience in an Ecology, Biodiversity or Environmental Science related role.
•Knowledge of the relevant Environmental legislation and National Policy relating to environmental protection and biodiversity.
•Experience in identifying ecological risk, opportunities, impacts and dependencies and developing policies to manage same.
•Knowledge and experience of Ecological Impact Assessment, Habitats Regulation Assessment (HRA) (Appropriate Assessment) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), along with other environmental reporting requirements.
•Continually seeking ways to improve, adapt and innovate while meeting compliance and commercial requirements.
•IT literacy with sound knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office.
•Current UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
Desirable:
•Diploma, Degree, Masters or equivalent in Ecology, Biodiversity or a related Environmental Science subject with an ecological component, or related discipline.
•Specialist experience in terrestrial ecology (including botany and/or ornithology), and/or freshwater and marine ecology.
•Relevant sector experience, including utility or construction.
•Working knowledge of ISO14001:2015 (Environmental Management).
•Experience in providing Ecology or Biodiversity support to an organisation with a significant Environmental Management System.
•GIS experience.
